SKI TOW
CANADIAN’S PRAISE SPECIAL TRIP MADE Special to the Daily Times QUEENSTOWN, Aug. 18. The new ski tow at Coronet Peait and the excellent snow conditions there have attracted comment from ski-ers throughout New Zealand. Evidence that this interest had extended outside the country was provided last week by a Canadian, Mr Peter, Holdroyd, who made a special visit to Queenstown for a- short ski-ing holiday. " , . . Mr Holdroyd was on his way by clipper to Australia and New Zealand to learn the wool trade and at Honolulu he heard of the new ski tow. He was to have gone to Australia first, but being an ardent ski-er he couid not resist the temptation of a week on the skis. When the clipper arrived in Auckland he made inquiries and came to Queenstown. When interviewed by a Daily Times representative last night before his departure he praised the possibilities of the Coronet Peak snowfield and said that once it became more widely known, it would attract visitors from all parts of the world. Mr Holdroyd added that there was not a finer tow in Canada.
