KEW STORE
CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY
RESIDENTS’ ENTHUSIASM
The initial enthusiasm over the formation of the Kew, Calton Hill, and Corstorphine Consumers’ Co-opera-tive Society has not waned, and the response in the taking up of shares in the society has been encouraging to the canvassers. It is barely two months since the society came into being, but nearly the. total amount of capital required has been subscribed. A further step in the movement was taken this week when it was decided to advertise for a manager for the society’s general store which, it is hoped, will be opened soon. A house will be made available to the appointee, but only, on the condition that he is already on the “ urgent priority ” list.
