WAKARI SERVICE
RETURN TO OLD TIME TABLE RATEPAYERS’ REQUESTS MET A return to the time table that existed before the change-over from cable cars to buses will be made in the Wakari service as soon as possible. This will mean that through buses will leave the Octagon for Wakari every 10" minutes at busy periods and every 20 minutes at other times of the day. An innovation will be that the buses will proceed alternatively by way of Taieri road and Chapman street. The decision to return to this timetable was made yesterday at the request of the Wakari Ratepayers’ Association. Cr McCrae stated that he had received a letter from the association setting out its requests. They were very reasonable, he said, and he was pleased to accede .to them. “ I hope that the service the association desires will be commenced on Monday," Cr McCrae added. “I hope, too, that the time table will give full satisfaction.”
