WOMEN’S HOCKEY
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE Mr P. Connors was in the chair at the fortnightly meeting of the North Otago Women’s Hockey Association on Tuesday night, and there were also present Messrs E. Pearce, G. Thorpe, Mesdames E. Pearce and Matheson, and Miss M. Clare. Final arrangements were made for the A and B representative games against South Canterbury at Oamaru on August 23, the B match to be played at 1.30 p.m and the A match at 3 p.m. Mrs Sheath was appointed manageress and Mrs Pearce chaperon, and Messrs G. Thorpe and E. Pearce were nominated as umpires. The Otago Association forwarded an invitation to play representative matches at Dunedin on August 23, but, because of the South Canterbury games, the invitation could not be accepted. It was hoped that these games could be played later in the season. The following games have been arranged:—August 23, North Otago A and B v. South Canterbury A and B, at Oamaru; September 6, North Otago A and B v. Ashburton A and B, at Oamaru; September 13, six-a-side tournament, open grade, at Oamaru; September 20. knockout tournament, at Kurow.
