ANTI-BRITISH SLOGANS
PAINTED ON CONSULATE OFFICES Rec. 10 p.m. NEW YORK, Aug. 2. Anti-British words and swastikas were found by the police last; night on buildings in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles housing British Consulate offices. A Lower Broadway building in New York bore . the words: “ Nazis,” “ the British are following the Nazis,” “s.s. Exodus, 1947.” The latter is the name of the Jewish refugees’ vessel seized en route to Palestine. The swastikas, painted with professional skill, were in the Nazi colours —red, white, and black. They were three feet high. In Chicago, daubing was on the pavement in front of the London Guaranty buildings, a skyscraper on North Michigan avenue which houses the British Consulate. " British Traitors,” “More. Coming,” “Exodus, 1947,” ‘were painted in red. In Los Angeles, swastikas and the words, “ Britsh Nazis ” were in red paint on the walls outside the British Consulate on the eleventh floor of the building.
