MISSIONARY’S WORK

There was a large gathering of Presbyterian Bible Class members in St. Andrews Church on Sunday afternoon to bid farewell to Miss Annie James, M.8.E., who left vesterday morning for China, where she" will take up her work again as matron of the Presbyterian mission hospital in Kai Hau, near Canton. Although Miss James has reached retiring age she has volunteered for another period of six years service to re-establish the Kai Hau hospital which was several times ravaged by the Japanese. Miss James has been the missionary of St. Andrew's Church for 35 years and an enamel stove for the hospital was a gift from the congregation. The Bible classes of St. Andrew’s Church presented her with a tea set.
