BRIGADE NOTES

V.Andrew Crighton, of the Kaikorai AmbulaSce Division, whose transfer to the reserve list has now been approved, has taken a lifelong interest in first aid wortc. In fact, he has been connected with the work for 53 years, joining the Boys Brigade, Edinburgh Battalion, and gaining a certificate of proficiency and first aid in 1894 In 1897 he gained a certificate of proficiency with the North Bristol Railway (ambulance section), and in 1899 was swarded the certificate of the St. Andrews Ambulance Association of Edinburgh. In 1900 he enlisted in the Seaforth Highlanders, but was transferred to the RAMC and in the years 1901 to 1905 served in Egypt, Khartum, and the Sudan. In 192 a he became a member of the brigade in Dunedin, where he has since served continuously. He became a member of the Kaikorai Ambulance Division in 1934. on its formation and has given long and faithful service to that division in the rank of ambulance officer. He is highly esteemed by his fellow members.

The following appointments have been approved bv the priory commissioner:— Alfred R. Richardson, secretary of the Dunedin Ambulance Division: Miss E. M. Baird, treasurer of the Milton Nursing Division; Leslie A. Davis, secretary of the Green Island Ambulance Division The following transfers to reserve have been approved:—H. D. Mclntosh, Hillside Ambulance Division: A. Smart. Caversham Nursing Division; A. Crighton. Kaikorai Ambulance Division.
