RECORD NET PROFIT
NEW ZEALAND DRUG COMPANY Details of the annual accounts of Kempthorne Prossser’s New Zealand Drug Company show that a record net profit of £87,117 was earned for the year ended January 31. This is an increase of £34,524 on the previous year’s result and is £8699 more than the former record of £78,418 in 1940. The dividend, unchanged at 8 per cent (final 4i per cent.), and a peace bonus of 6d a share, require £66,366, a contribution to Otago centennial celebrations takes £IOOO and, with £15,000 transferred to general reserve, £4751 is left to increase carry-forward to £41,723. Dividend has been maintained at 8 per cent, since 1935, increased by a bonus of 5s a share from general reserve fund in 1938.
