A SECOND SEARCH

DETECTIVES COMB STEAMER WAIPORI NO TRACE OF SYDNEY GUNMAN (PA.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 9. The steamer Waipori was searched by a party of detectives to-day for the second time. They were seeking Antonio Martini, the notorious gunman, who made a break from his cell in Queen’s Square Court, Sydney, on July 17 After the earlier search of the Waipori, which took place before the vessel berthed, it was not expected that to-day’s search would produce results, but it was made as a precautionary measure. Particular attention was paid to the holds of the ship from which a portion of the cargo has been removed A stem-to-stern combing of the Waipori failed to reveal any trace of Martini. The guard, which has been posted over the Waipori since she docked, has now been removed.
