PRESBYTERIAL ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL REPORT The annual report of the Oamaru Presbyterlal Association states that 22 branches of the association were in existence with a membership of 598, a decrease of 23 on the previous year. The Awamoko branch had been in recess for a year, and a new branch had been formed at Eveline. A total of £BSO 12s 9d had been raised, excluding £27 5s for field work, an increase ,of £52 17s 5d over the previous year. At the annual meeting the Rev. G. H. McNeur gave an interesting and informative talk on “ Christian interchange between China and New Zealand.” Opportunity was taken to express to Mrs Barton the appreciation of the association for her excellent work over a period of years.
The report expresses thanks to Mrs Doig, union executive representative, the managers of St. Paul’s, branches and special secretaries and to Mrs Orr and Miss-Beckingsdale for hall decorating. Reports from organisations were as follows: M.M.B.L. (Mrs Webster), £59 7s 9d 'from 985 members; field work (Mrs Orr), nine sacks of clothing for the Maori field, ono parcel to India, and £27 5s in cash; arrowroot (Mrs Hannah), 491 b; corresponding members (Mrs Mcßae), 83 letters distributed each month; Harvest Field (Miss Beckingsdale), 625 subscribers; literature, (Mrs Sproat), £8 3s; stamps (Miss Bates), £l2 16s for 30,071 stamps; Busy Bees (Mrs Paterson), nine hives, 132 bees. £142 6s 9d; W.W.5.F.W.T.1., £4 6s given to this fund and £lO 5s 6d to the Training Institute.
