Principals’ Reports The principal of the girls' school (Miss J. B. Delay in completing, the Third Form reports had been caused by two mistresses being absent on sick leave.

The results were as follows Third Forms (subject, "A book I should recommend you to read ”): Peggy Robertson 1, Vivienne Butler 2. Fourth Forms (subject, " The war memorial I should like to advocate”): Marie McDiarmid 1, Sonia Woodward 2. Lower Fifth Forms (subject, “ The address of an underground patriot to his fellow countrymen under Nazi dominatino”): Audrey Lory 1, Betty Familton 2. Mrs Malcolm Holmes had presented to the school a valuable collection of gramophone records for use in music appreciation classes. There were several hundred records covering a wide range of musical composition. The rector of the boys' school (Mr J. T. Burrows), in his report, referred to the resignation of Mr Sceats, who, he said, had been at the school for 12 years, and during that time had given loyal service. Messrs J. L. Cameron and S. M. Kinross were at present at the school in connection with the award of leaving certificates and the grading of teachers. Six old boys of the school—Messrs K. W. Gemmell, K. Faloon, H. W. Turvey, L. R.
