ST. JAMES THEATRE

A NEWSPAPER STORY. “You Can’t Escape Forever,” an exciting newspaper story, which abounds also in bright comedy, began its season at the St. James Theatre yesterday. The film features George Brent and Brenda Marshall in the principal roles, with Gene Lockhart, Roscoe Kearns and Edward Ciannelli in support. Brent plays the role of a managing editor of a newspaper on the staff of which Brenda Marshall is a reporter. The two join forces to expose the town’s leading racketeers, and their subsequent exploits provide good screen entertainment. The film is packed with fast-moving action, and is interspersed with diverting comedy. The supporting programme is well varied. The box plans are at the theatre, the D.I.C. and Jacobs’s.
