PORT OF HONGKONG

ENTERED BY BRITISH SHIPS SUPPLIES FOR WAR PRISONERS I-lONGKONG, Aug. 30. A strong British naval force, commanded by Rear-admiral Harcount in the cruiser Swiftsure, yesterday entered the port of Hongkong to reoccupy Britain’s Crown Colony. The British force included the aircraft carriers Indomitable and Venerable, the battleship Anson, three cruisers, six destroyers, a’ submarine depot ship, eight submarines, a hospital ship, and seven minesweepers. The ships carry special medical supplies for prisoners of war and interned civilians, and additional naval personnel to take over the port and restore it to full working order.
