WAVERLEY PROSPECTS

(PA.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 24. The Waverley Racing Club will hold its spring meeting to-morrow. Provision has been made to run the Maiden Stakes and Jackson Stakes in divisions. Three scratchings are required in the Maiden and seven in the Jackson Stakes to avoid divisions. Betting will be conducted under the win-and-place system, and the following horses are likely to be well supported:— 12.0: Hack Hurdles.—Baron Bold, AngloIrish, Hunting Comet. 12.40: Brewer Memorial Handicap.—Orakau, Betterman, Clarice. 1.20: Maiden Race.—Man’s Pride, Panamint, Meerminl'. 2.0: Wilson High-weight Handicap.— Lady Spiral. Gold Card, Corday. 2.40: Waverley Cup.—Noble Fox, Te Kawiti, Nighean. 3.20: Nursery Handicap.—Young -Margaret, Balblair, Lady Beverley. 4.10: Moumahaki Stakes.—Young Jim, Skydonna, Golden Acre. 5.0: Jackson Stakes.—Citizen, Plato Lad, Vermette.
