Brackets in the Wellington race book for the first day at Trent'ham are as follows:—Wellington Guineas—Expanse and Grey Salute, Skyhawk and St. Nattar, Tara King and Typhoon, Denary and Lady Nahleen, La Serena and Llnbury; Rimutaka Handicap—Prudentia and Lord Brolefort, Fort Royal and Grecian Flame, Guile and Honest Sal, Inscription and Miss Wheriko, Ozel and Poiario, Silver Lily arid Tristan; Wellington Handicap, Gladynev and Don Quex; Wellesley Stakes— Battle Shield and Jannie Girl, Hoodikt and Lalla Meer, Laurium and Leighon's Glory, M.y Bonnie and Subdued; October Handicap—Cheap Lodging and Cracroft, Day Lightning and Genghiz Khan, Greenfeast and Griffin, Maharajah and Manutere. Pel] Mell and Silver Foot, To-day was an off morning at Trentham, and there was no fast galloping, most of the tasks being strong pace work, the bulk of which was done on the plough.
