NOTES FROM RICCARTON
(Special) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 20. The trouble at Lyttelton, which prevented more than 20 horses from going north yesterday, seems to have been straightened out. and it is expected that most of the horses will travel to-night. The contingent for the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting numbered nine, M. Holmes having Parrish Gipsy, Watcher. Sabu, Larissa, and Flying Scott; G. B Noble, Fantom. Light Brigade, and May Scott, and W. Milner. Tall Timber Tliev will leave to-night. Of the Riccarton lot, F. Christmas will go to-night with Langue d’Or, Good Scout, Lord Roland and Lady Sylvia. D Cotton will take Hunting Charm. Pallid, Botany and Denary and C. G Humphries Gulf Stream. The others who were to have left last night for Trentham will now wait till to-morrow night They are F. A. Roberts, with John Gay. Lalla Meer and Arustra, and D Spence with Honest Sal. The balance of the Riccarton candidates and the Otago hurdler Half and Half will also travel to-morrow night. St. Nattar will not be sent to Trentham, but will run in the Trial Stakes at th° No>’th Canterbury meeting The Riccarton trainer Harry Cutts has returned home, after being in hospital for three weeks. He is verv much improved in health
