fat sheep values easier (P.A.) INVERCARGILD, June 1. Apart from freezing ewes, all-classes of butchers’ sheep were generally easier by about 2s a head at the Lorneville stock sale to-dsv. Prime quality wethers made from 31s to 335; medium weights, 28s to 29s 6d; light-weight, 25s to 26s 6d; prime young butchers’ ewes, 21s to 22s 6d; prime quality, 19s to 20s; medium, 17s to 17s 9d; and freezing ewes, 13s to 16s, according to weight and quality. The entry of fat lambs consisted mostly of light and unfinished sorts. There was keen competition, and values iq most cases were above the export schedule The smaller fat cattle yarding and the activity of operators for outside orders, caused values to show an improvement over the prices at last week’s sale by a general average of about 30s a head Good quality medium-weight bullocks made from £ls 5s to £l6 17s 6d; handy-weights, £l3 15s to £l4 15s; light-weights, £ll 10s to £l2 10s; unfinished, £8 td £9 ss; prime quality cows, £ll to £l2 10s; good quality, £lO to £lO 15s; medium, £8 10s to £9 10s; aged and unfinished, £5 10s to £7; good quality heifers, £ll 10s to £l2 15s; medium, £9 5s to £lO 10s; small, £7 10s to £8 10s.
