WAIAREKA SALE
(Special) OAMARU, June 1. There were large yardings of fat cattle and fat sheep at the Waiareka sale today and small entries of store .sheep and pigs. Prices remained on a par with those of last week, and were as follows: Fat Cattle.—Best steers, £l4 to £l6 10s; medium, £lO 2s 6d to £l2 ss; light, down to £8 17s 6d; best heifers, £9 to £l2 10s; medium, £6 to £8 2s 6d; best cows, £7 10s to £lO ss; light, £5 10s to £6 15s. Fat Sheep.—Best wethers. 35s to 395; medium, 30s 3d to 325; light, 23s 3d to 265; best ewes, 19s 9cT to 22s 6d; medium, 15s 9d to 18s; light, 12s 6d to 14s; lambs, 24s to 275. . Store Sheep—Pen of ewe lambs, 22s 6d; pen of wether lambs, 17s; medium wether lambs, 10s 3d to 13s Bd. , Store Cattle—Pen of three-year-old steers, £9 12s 6d; pen of two-year-old steers, £6 17s 6d; pen of heifers, £3 7s 6d. Pigs.—Best. 32s to 35s 6d; medium, 20s to 235; small, 13s.
