School Committee.—The monthly meeting of the Tapanui District High School Committee was held on Thursday evening, Mr K Rodger presiding—The balance sheet submitted by the secretary was adopted.—Mr W. Military Harvesters. —The Kelso military harvest camp broke up on Tuesday last, and the men returned to their base camp. It is anticipated that a small number of men will be housed in Tapanui in the near future to assist in the lifting of potatoes, of which there is a fair acre 7 age still to be dug. Basketball.—The annual meeting of the Tapanui Basketball Club was held recently, Mrs D. Kane occupying the chair. —The balance sheet, which showed a substantial credit, was adopted.—The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted :—Patroness, Mrs J. S. Varcoe; president, Miss Joyce Brooke; secretary, Mrs G. Ruthyen; vice-presidents—Mesdames D. Kane, W. D. Rutherford, Miss Blue, Messrs C. Murray, F. J. Hancox, J. H. White, and J. D. Edgar.—At the annual meeting of the West Otago Basketball Association the following officers were elected: —President, Mrs D. Kane; vice-presidents—Mes-dames W. D. Rutherford, A. S. McKay, Haugh, Peat, Messrs Carson, Lindsay, John McCall, C. Murray, and M. 'Stark; secretary, Miss F. Greaves. ,
