MILTON

Missionary Union.—The Otago District Methodist Women’s Missionary Union held its annual convention in the Milton Church on Tuesday. Over 70 delegates were present from Dunedin, Mosgiel and Balclutha. The visitors, on arrival, were entertained at morning tea by the Milton delegates. The district president, Mrs Prout. was in the chair. The secretary’s report was presented by Mrs Hull, and Mrs Breen presented the' financial statement. 1 In the afternoon the session was opened wdth a communion service conducted by the Rev. L. T. Norwell. Mrs Ganderton gave an interesting address regarding the Maori work of the union, and Mrs Cole spoke on the rehabilitation of the missionary work in the church. Mrs Keinan was organist, and a solo was sung by Mrs E. V. Hughes (Balclutha). ' Personal.—Miss T. W. Reay, of Waronul, left for the north by the express on Thursday. She will join an air force station for training as an instrument mechanic. i
