WAIPAHI
Anzac Day.—A special Anzac service was held in the Presbyterian Church on Sunday. The service was conducted by the Rev. F. Robertson, of Pukerau, and was attended by returned soldiers and Home Guardsmen under Company Commander J. T. McHaffie.
“ Kitchen ” Party.—Prior to her marriage, Miss Margaret Brown was entertained at a ” kitchen ’’ party in the hall. Mr J. S. Divers presided, and Mr T. E. Whiteside extended to the guest the congratulations and good wishes of the residents of the district. Handing over the gifts, Mr E. S. Moyle paid a tribute to Miss Brown as an employee, and referred to her popularity with the public. Mr W. Graham replied on behalf of Miss Brown. Miss Hogg, of Gore, contributed a solo, Mr H. E. Brown being the accompanist.- Music for the dance was supplied by Messrs A. Philpott and Len Miller.
