Picnic at Chrystall’s Beach.—The residents and crib owners at Chrystall’s Beach held their fifth annual picnic on Easter Monday, when a large number of visitors were present. The programme in the afternoon consisted of games and races for the children. Those in charge were Messrs A. E. Powley. A. Higgs, O. Holmes, Mrs R. Winn, and Miss L. Reed, while the Rev. E. T. Nicholls judged the sand modelling. ,

Bruce Hockey Club.—ln the absence of the president Mrs W. C|rruthers presided at the annual meeting of the Bruce Hockey Club. The following office-bearers were elected: President, Mr J. Murray; vice-presidents—Messrs J. Murphy, J. Morris, D. Sanson, T. Quill, J. R. Wilson, W. Carruthers, D. McGillivray, R. S. Loper, Mesdames W. Carruthers and D. Young; captain, Miss E. Lillicrap; vice-captain, Mrs J. Fitzgerald; secretary, Mrs W. Carruthers; delegates, Messrs Murray and Loper; committee —Mesdames Carruthers, Murray, Dee, Fitzgerald, Misses E. and C. Lillicrap, A. and M. Kreft, J. Morris, M. Marshall; auditor, Mr G. Hamilton Thomson; selectors—Mesdames H. Murray, Carruthers, and Miss E. Liliicrap. The season will be opened to-day.
