CONCERT AT ST. LEONARDS

To provide Christmas gifts for local servicemen in New Zealand camps, a successful concert was presented in the King George Hall at St. Leonards last Saturday night by performers from Dunedin and Port Chalmers. There was a large and appreciative audience. Members of the Dunedin Repertory Society presented the ■play-, “My Aunt from California,”-, produced by Miss F. Pacey, the cast comprising Mesdames Newey, McLean and Woodhouse and Misses Billy Loan, Elsie Kirkham and Sylvia Lawrence. These performers also assisted with the programme that followed, others who look part being Misses Nana Newey, Shirley Chambers and Frances Robson, and Messrs Butler and L. Neilson. Ona Jolly and Billy Chambers delighted the audience with their dances and songs (solo and duo). Miss Pacey acted as chairman and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the company for presenting such an enjoyable programme.
