ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The quarterly meeting of the executive of the St. John Ambulance Association was held on Monday evening, when Mr H. Harris presided over a good attendance of members. Mr Somerville reported on the various arrangements made in connection witli the annual appeal, the result of which was very gratifying. The president expressed thanks to all who had assisted, especially members of the women’s organisations, who had manned the corners, and the secretary (Miss M. L. Ridley), who had carried out the administration and organising in connection with the appeal. The final figure's for the day were:--Street collection, £7Bl 12s 3d; shop proceeds, £IOB 4s 3d;—total, £BB9 16s 6d. The nursing and ambulance returns showed that the four nurses had paid 621 visits to 73 patients during the month of. November, and 20 new patients had been added to their lists. The four ambulances answered 157 calls and travelled 1838 miles. Fifteen accidents were promptly attended to. The school of instruction classes had concluded, and it was hoped that the results of the final examinations would bo available before the end of the year. Further preliminary examinations had also been conducted at a number of schools and colleges. The financial statement for the three months ended November 30 was presented and approved, the balance in hand being regarded as satisfactory.
