MEETING OF DUNEDIN BRANCH The monthly meeting of the committee of the Dunedin branch of the Plunket Society was held on Friday last. There were present Mrs McGeorge (In the chair). Lady Sidey, Mesdames Begg, Cairney, Cleghorn, Longbottom, Moodie, Reid, Ross, Walker (Waverley), Peat and Ewart (Mosgiel), and Misses Johnstone and Kyle. The matron of the Truby King-Harris Hospital reported that during November 18 mothers and 30 babies had been admitted, and 16 mothers and 26 babies had been discharged. Patients had been admitted from Port Chalmers, Alexandra, Mosgiel, Kelso, Recfton, as well as from the .city and suburbs. The usual Karitane' and Plunket examinations had been conducted by Miss Fitzgibbon, Dr Williams, Dr Deem, and Miss Liddell. Fifteen Plunket aids with Miss Tingey from Wakari, and members of the Macandrew sub-branch, visited the hospital during the month. The charge nurse reported on talks and demonstrations given to Plunket aid groups and pupils of the Dunedin North Intermediate School. The report summarising the work of the Dunedin Plunket nurses stated that in November there were 2093 babies on the list and 1065 older children; 1241 visits were paid to homes, and 4713 to tire offices (2331 mothers. 2097 babies, and 285 older children). There were 112 new cases for the month. Progress reports were presented from the Mosgiel and Port Chalmers subbranches.
