NEW ZEALAND AIRMEN

OVER 300 DECORATIONS WON (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 8. Proof of the sterling qualities of New Zealanders serving overseas was given to-day by the Minister of Defence, Mr F. Jones, when he announced that the total awards now won by New Zealand air personnel had reached 303. Mr Jones said that only six months ago he had announced that the second hundred had been passed. A large percentage of the New Zealanders serving with the R.A.F. at the outbreak of war had been decorated.

Included in the total are one V.C., 11 D.S.O.’s, 174 D.F.C.’s, 17 D.F.C.’s with bar, 64 D.F.M.’s, and one M.C.
