WOMEN IN CHURCH

HEADS MAY BE UNCOVERED REMOVAL OF OBJECTION LONDON, Nov. 0. The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued the following statement:— ... „ .. “Nowadays questions are frequently asked .concerning the customary rule that women should not enter a church with their heads uncovered. The scriptural authority behind the rule is St. Paul’s regulation .requiring that women should be veiled, which has long fallen into disuse. ’We wish it to be known, after consultation with the bishops generally, that no woman or girl should hesitate to enter s church uncovered, nor should any objection to her doing so be raised.”
