AIRCRAFT BURNT SEQUEL TO FORCED LANDING (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 7. Advice has been received that an aircraft returning from a formation flight made a forced landing near Marton at 3.30 p.m. yesterday. This was made necessary through engine failure, and, although the pilot landed successfully, the aircraft caught fire and was burnt. One wing, however, has been salvaged. The pilot, Sergeant Eric Dusna Smart, escaped uninjured.
