ACROSS THE STRAITS
DUEL BETWEEN BIG GUNS (Rec. 9 p.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 6. In a 45-minute gun duel to-night across the straits, shells from Dunkirk, Calais, and Cape Gris Nez burst in the vicnity of Dover. English and German gunners • exchanged shell for shell, and over 100 shells were fired before the cannonade stopped.
