TEMPORARY EXTENSION OF AREA (PA.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 22. The Minister of Transport, Mr R. Semple, said to-day that Mr V. Raines, of Dunedin, the No. 4 Licensing Authority, would carry out the work in his own district and also undertake that carried out by the No. 3 Authority, Mr T. H. Langford, while Mr Langford was acting as zoning officer for the South Island. Mr Raines would have a roving commission for the whole of the South Island, added the Minister. The arrangement was a temporary one to get over the difficulty in regard to the shortage of tyres. ___
