Vice-Regal The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, received Air Commodore S. F. Vincent at Government House yesterday. Mr James Begg left for Wellington b i the express last night. Mr Richard Hudson was a passenger for the north yesterday. Mr G. W. MacAvov left by the express for the south yesterday. Mr W. H. Mclntyre, M.L.C., who has been chairman of the Buller Hospital Board for the past 17 years, was unanimously re-elected chairman yesterday. Mr Mclntyre has been a member of the board for 25 years, and at every election has topped tha poll. The Mayor, Mr A. H. Allen, and Crs J. Wilson and L. J. T. Ireland were appointed at the meeting of the City Council last night to represent the council on the Otago University Museum Committee of Management.
Messrs J. A. Roy, W. M. C. Denham, W. A. Bodkin, and J. W. Munro, members of Parliament, and Messrs M. Connelly and T. F. Doyle, members of the Legislative Council, left by the express last night to attend the session of Parliament which opens to-morrow.
