WEDDINGS

Begg—MacLean The wedding was celebrated quietly at Knox Church on Saturday afternoon of Margot, only daughter of Mrs G. M. Mac Lean and the late Mr Mac Lean, of Dunedin, and Dr Neil Colquhoun Begg, younger son of Mrs C. Mackie Begg and the late Dr Begg, of Dunottar. The bride was escorted by her mother, and Mrs S. J. Mac Lean was her attendant. Mr John Begg, ol Wyndham Station, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. Michaelmas daisies and pink and blue hydrangeas decorated the church, and after the ceremony relatives were received by Mrs Mac Lean at her home in Pitl street. Rutherford —Jensen

The Stirling Presbyterian Church was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride for the marriage of Norman, only son of Mrs and the late Mr Rutherford, of Inch Clutha, and Alma Margaret, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. A. Jensen, also of Inch Clutha. The Rev. Mr W. Comber performed the ceremony, and Mr G. E. Wilkinson, of Dunedin, was the organist. The bride looked charming in an Elizabethan frock of ivory white satin embossed taffeta with veil attached to a topknot of white gladioli. She was attended by Miss Uta Mann, of Christchurch, and Miss Jean Knarston, of Te Houka, who wore deep lilac and Linden blue taffeta frocks respectively, while the flower girl, Lorraine Smith, a niece of the bridegroom, wore a miniature of the bridesmaids’ frocks in desert gold taffeta. The bridegroom was attended by Mr J. E. Clements, of Clyde, and Mr R. Spencer, of Dunedin. At a reception held in the Masonic Hall, Balclutha. the guests were received by Mrs Jensen and Mrs Rutherford. The bride and bridegroom left later for a tour of the lakes districts.
