THE REV. S. R. ORR
ADDRESS IN CONCERT CHAMBER Lecturing at the request of the British Israel World Federation at the Concert Chamber yesterday afternoon, the Rev. S. Robertson Orr dealt with world affairs as revealed by Biblical prophecies. Prophecy indicated that before the ultimate conflict the world would see a special grouping of nations. One group had been called the northern confederacy, a combination of Russia and Germany, under Russia’s leadership. This vast combination “ will come like a storm and be like a cloud to cover the land. In such words the Scriptures described a blitzkrieg on the Holy Land from the north. There were prophets who said that the lightning attack could not happen twice, and that Hitler had lost against Britain. This winter was being used as a period of immense preparation for an attack, not only on Britain, but on Syria, Iraq and Palestine. Vast preparations were going forward in Rumania. Bulgaria and Persia. Germany, Italy and Russia found Britain in the pathway of their dreams of world domination, and they were aware that the surest way to strike a blow at the Empire would be to unite to cut Britain s lifeline in the Near East. A cataract of disaster would yet fall upon the nation, but in it we would be divinely delivered. It was not a fantastic doctrine that God would yet use the Anglo-Saxon Peoples as the unit around which to build a new order of righteous government and economic justice. “ If a man tells me that the most important thing 1° J he _ Bibl< r, . s ‘ pe f so { 1 P n salvation,” said Mr Orr, then I tell him that he is stating something that is not true. Personal salvation is the most important thing in personal relationships; but in a world of disordered government and maladministration, when men are being marched to ™ as * ™ ur J*! l r ’ millions are unemployed, and more mu lions are under-nourished, the most important thing among the nations is the establishment of righteousness ‘".Governments and human relations. This is the part of the Israel message to which men are listening by the thousands on the North American continent. All thinking men, the speaker continued, had the feeling that this chaos and horror must be related to something. It would be very strange if the Bible had nothing to sav about the greatest crisis in all history. The broad lines of Scripture nrnnhecv carry people beyond tne tragedy that stalked the world I°*° brighter time of God’s abiding kingdom X Orr will lecture again to-night in the Concert Chamber on The Destiny of the Dictators.”
