ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
KNOCKED OVER BY CAR WOMAN ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Mar. 22. When crossing Trafalgar street last night, two women were knocked over by a car. One, Miss Doreen Taylor, was admitted to hospital with injuries to one leg and minor facial injuries.
DEATH UNDER ANESTHETIC <Peb United Press Association) GREYMOUTH. Mar. 21, Douglas Partridge Wilson, aged 34, a married man. died under an anaesthetic in a private hospital at Greymouth this morning. He was a native of Christchurch, and was employed by Gold Mines (New Zealand), Ltd. PILLION RIDER KILLED MOTOR CYCLIST CRASHES INTO “’OLE (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Mar. 21. When. a motor cycle crashed into a telegraph pole near Kaiapoi, a pillion rider, Titanui Solomon, single, of Temuka, was killed almost instantly. A blow-out caused the rider, John Riwai, to lose control. Solomon being hurled to the ground after the impact.
CYCLIST INJURED George Stewart, aged 17 years, of Pukehiki, received abdominal injuries when the motor bicycle he was riding skidded at HighclifE on Thursday evening. He was admitted to Hospital at 6.45. MOTOR CAR CAPSIZES
TWO MEN INJURED
Returning from a dance at Earnscleugh to Alexandra, two young men, D. M. Paterson and A. B. Lind, had a ' narrow escape when the car in < which they were travelling capsized on the Earnscjeugh road just before it joins the Roxburgh-Alexandra highway. The car ran off the road and was completely wrecked. Both occupants received medical attention from Dr Gladstone Patterson, and were admitted to the Dunstan Hospital suffering from shock and slight concussion. Lind also received cuts in the groin, hand and nose.
FRACTURED ARM Frederick Inder, a small boy residing at 39 Glen avenue, was admitted to Hospital at 9 p.m. yesterday suffering from a fractured arm. received when he fell from a ladder. DEATH IN HOSPITAL Mrs Isobel Kirk, a widow, who lived in 33 Havelock street, Mornington, died in the Hospital on Thursday night. She was admitted on March 5 as the result of breaking her leg when she slipped in the doorway of a shop at the Exchange, and until Thursday night had appeared to be making ft good recovery.
