MILTON Toko Football Club The annual meeting of Toko Football Club on Wednesday night waf attended by about a dozen members, Mr James Murray presiding in the absence of the president (Mr U. Walker). Moving the adoption of the report, the chairman referred to the number of the members of the club who had enlisted, and it was decided that a minute be recorded in the books and that the members on service be kept financial until their return. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows;—Patron, Mr Alex. Stewart (Dunedin); president, Mr U. Walker (re-elected); secretary, Mr H. L. Wilkinson (re-elected); assistant secretary. Mr E Currie (re-elected); treasurer, Mr G. Elliott; club captain, Mr E. Sawyers; deputy club captain, Mr J. Martin: committee—Messrs R. and W. Carruthers (re-elected), H. Whitaker. W. Murdoch. W. Kennard; auditor. Mr G. H. Thomson; delegates to South Otago Rugby Union, Messrs U. Walker and J. Murray. Opening day was fixed for April 13, and it was recommended that a match should be played that day with the “ Old Buffers;’* a smoke concert to be held at night. Subscriptions were fixed at 5s for seniors and 3s for juniors. 2s 6d and Is respectively to be added if not paid before May 31.

Borough Council The clerk (Mr 1. F. Thomson) ' reported to the meeting of the Milton Borough Council on Wednesday night that £4586 had been paid in the current year’s rates up to the closing day on Tuesday out of a total of £4805 levied This represents a percentage of 95J per cent.

The Fniance Committee reported that the debit balance at the end of February was £SOB 8s lOd. Receipts totalled £BO3 18s 9d, and the expenditure £l3lO 7s 7d, including £340 interest on the conversion loan, £176 2s, to Dunedin City Council for heavy traffic licences.

The foreman reported that a further 11 burst water pipes had been repaired during the month. Nineteen chains and a-half of first-coat tar-sealing had been carried out.
