OTAGO LADIES’ CLUB An all-day tournament was played on pe Otago links yesterday. In the Medal round in the morning Miss Shand won in the A Grade and Mrs H. Walker m the B Grade. In the Four-ball Match in the afternoon Mrs Barron and Mrs Blair were the winners. An approaching and putting competition was held, and was won by Mrs Anderson and Miss Porteous. Mrs Caffin, Mrs Gamble and Mrs Cameron donated the prizes. The following were the best scores:—Medal: A Grade —Miss Shand 89—12—77, Miss Kyle 94—16—78, Mrs Stirling 94—16—78; B Grade—Mrs H. Walker 103—25—78 Mrs Glendining 112—32—80, Miss North 101—20—81. Four-ball: Mrs Barron and Miss Blair, 1 down; Mrs Williams and Mrs Earnshaw, 2 down; Mrs McKenzie and Mrs Jenkins, 2 down. Miss Shand and Mrs H. Walker were all square, but as they had- won in the morning they could- not compete for prizes. In the approaching and putting competition Miss Shand, Miss McHutcheson and Mrs Anderson were all nine points in A Grade and Miss Shand did not compete in the play-off, which was won by Mrs Anderson. Miss Porteous in the B Grade had 10 points. The first qualifying round for the club championship and B Grade challenge bowl will be played to-morrow. The second qualifying round will be held next Tuesday in conjunction with the monthly L.G.U. Match and the succeeding rounds will be played off each day of next week. ST. CLAIR LADIES’ CLUB A sealed hole competition over nine holes was held at the St. Clair Ladies Golf Club yesterday. The winner was Mrs Forsyth, whose score was 54 — 7\ —46 L The runner-up was Mrs A. Smellie, with 59—12—47.
