DISPLAY OF HANDWORK

At the Kelsey-Yaralla Kindergarten on Wednesday last there was exhibited the handwork nroduced during the year by the students of the Dunedin Free Kindergarten Association. The sunei'visor. Miss Duthie. received a large muster of those interested in this work. There was a most interesting collection of posters: toys from tins and other waste material; dolls’ beds and bedding; stuffed animals: picture portfolios; and scale models of kindergartens and nursery stories. A display of children’s work —painting, clav modelling, carpentry, etc.—attracted much attention. Some educational toys made by one of the kindergarten fathers were also on view and were notable for their workmanship. A selection from the display is to be sent to the kindergarten exhibit at the Centennial Exhibition.
