CONCERT AT SEACLIFF

The Coronation Concert Party gave a concert and dance in the hall at Seacliff Mental Hospital last Saturday evening. The concert was organised by Mr R. B. Middlemiss. The stage manager was Mr J. T. Ramsay, and the accompanists were Mr Pellett, Mr Ramsay, Mrs Peterson and Mrs Cunningham. The accompanists for the dance were Messrs Pellett and Ramsay A community sing was led by Mr D. White. The concert programme was as follows: Piano duet, Mr and Mrs Peterson; songs by Mr E. King. Mrs M. Bachop, Mrs u. White Mr Craig, Mrs Oliver, Mr Ramsay and Master Allan Cunningham; recitations, Mrs Oliver, Mrs L. Bachop; humorous song and recitation, Master Allan Cunningham; musical items—Mr Ramsay, Mr Pellett, Mr Hooper; yodelling cowboy, Mr Hooper; mouth organ trioMrs Oliver, Mrs Mutch, Mrs Cunningham; piping, Piper McVean. A feature of the evening was the Highland dancing and Irish jig by Misses Dawn Craig and Shirley Matheson, accomSanied by Piper McVean (by courtesy lunedin Highland Pipe Band) At the conclusion of the concert a dance programme was carried out ""under the direction of Mr Bachop Mr Craig spoke highly of the work of the Dunedin Piping and Dancing Association, of which the two young High land dancers were members. Dr Milne thanked the organiser and performers on behalf of patients and staff Mr Middlemiss briefl.\ replied He also thanked Mr Steven, of the Patients* and Prisoners' Airf Society, for arranging transport.
