TERM IN PRISON

STOWAWAYS ON AWATEA (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 16. Three stowaways by the Awatea which arrived yesterday were dealt with by Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., to-day. John Torpey alias Tarpey, aged 38. a labourer, was sentenced to one months imprisonment, and Frank Edwin Foster, aged 18, and Frederick Clark, aged 22, were each sentenced to 14 days imprisonment. It was stated this morning that nothing was known against the last two. Torpey, however, gave a wrong name, but was traced by his fingerprints.
