RUGBY FOOTBALL

REPRESENTATIVE PLAYER INJURED STRIKES CORNER FLAG As a result of an injury received when he struck a corner flag during the match between Southern and University B on Saturday, H. J. Tyrie, a member of the former team, is now in hospital, and it is unlikely that he will be able to play again this season. Tyrie, who was an Otago representative player last year and has represented New Zealand at the Empire Games, did not leave the field on Saturday, and it was not until some time after the match that it was found that he had been injured internally.
