INVALIDED FOR LIFE

EYE-WITNESS OF COLLISION DAMAGES AWARDED LONDON, Dec. 20. A woman who was the eye-wit-ness of a car and lorry collision was awarded £2500 damages and costs at the Manchester Assizes. It was stated that she thought that the vehicles might hit her and collapsed on the pavement. Thereafter she suffered from heart trouble and was invalided for life. The court ruled that the drivers were careless and blameworthy and should equally share in the payments.

Insurance officials declare that the case is the first of its kind.
