A KENTUCKY FEUD
SHOOTING OF POLITICIAN TWO BROTHERS ACQUITTED (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SHELBYVILLE (Kentucky), Oct. 24. The jury acquitted Roy Garr on a charge of the murder of Briga-dier-general Denhardt. The verdict also set free another brother, Jack, while a third, who is in a mental hospital, is not likely ever to be tried. A message received on September 22 stated: Brigadier-general Henry Denhardt, the well-known politician and soldier, whose trial on a charge of murdering Mrs Vera Taylor, his fiancee, two months ago. roused national interest, was shot dead by three assailants while strolling down the street with his attorney. It is believed that members of the woman’s family took revenge in a fashion typical of Kentucky feudists. The jury at the first trial was unable to reach a verdict, and the second trial was scheduled for to-day The assailants were captured. The authorities later announced that it was Mrs Taylor’s three brothers who were arrested.
