WORK OF ELIMINATION GOOD PROGRESS MADE (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 21. Pleasure at the progress made with the elimination of level crossings in the nast 12 months was expressed bv the Minister of Public Works (Mr R. Semple), who said that the back of the job had been broken Of 250 crossings on the present programme 14 had been completed and 62 contracts >ad been let. There were 69 proposals in hand and 40 surveys. Delay had been caused through the difficulty of obtainin'* supplies of reinforcing steel.
