TRADE WITH INDIA
AN AGREEMENT CONTEMPLATED BRITISH FEDERATION’S INTEREST (British Official Wireless) (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) RUGBY, June 19. A deputation from the Federation of British Industries was received at the Board of Trade by the president of the Board of Trade (Mr Oliver Stanley), who was accompanied by the secretary to the Department of Overseas Trade (Captain D. E. Wallace).
The deputation laid before Mr Stanley the views of the federation on United Kingdom trade with India, with particular reference to the forthcoming negotiations with the Government of India on the subject of a trade agreement between the United Kingdom and India. Mr Stanley expressed thanks for the careful investigations which the Federation of British Industries had made of the problem of trade relations between the United Kingdom and India and for the federation s offer of assistance, and he undertook that the fullest consideration would be given to the federation’s representations.
