A RECORD SEASON WORLD’S BIGGEST THRESHER <Peb United Press Association) WHANGAREI, June'" 18. The report presented at the annual meeting of the Bay of Islands Swordfish and Mako Shark Club revealed a record season despite a good deal of unsatisfactory weather. The total number of fish caught was 463, consisting of 23 black marlin. 319 striped marlin, 102 mako shark, seven hammerhead, three thresher, and 13 of other varieties. This represents an increase of 84 over the 1925-26 season, the previous best season, and an increase of 285 over the past season. Included in the catch was the world s record thresher shark weighing 9221 b.
