CYCLIST KILLED INSTANTLY FELL UNDER WHEELS OF MOTOR TRUCK (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 18. Falling under -the wheels of a motor truck after his bicycle had struck a stationary motor car, John Aislabie, aged 18, of Remuera, Auckland, was killed instantly. Aislabie was cycling towards the city at about 8.30 in a long line of traffic, and struck a car which pulled into the kerb in front of him. Following behind the cyclist was a loaded motor truck driven by a Chinese market gardener. A wheel of the truck passed over the youth’s body, causing terrible injuries. Spectators said the accident happened in a few swift seconds, and there was no chance of the driver preventing it. GIRL IMPALED ON STAKE PUSHED BY A COMPANION (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 18. At the inquest on Audrey Mary Murphy (aged eight years) the coroner found that the girl died from a particularly severe form of peritonitis, which arose as the result of the lower bowl being accidentally perforated by a garden stake on which she jumped. The deceased was playing on the way home from school at Seatoun, and the accident occurred when she jiunped down the bank after being pushed by a companion.
