INTOXICATED MOTORISTS
IMPRISONMENT IMPOSED A CHASE BY THE POLICE <Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 18. Peter Robert Button Chadwick, aged 27, was sentenced to 21 days in gaol and had his driving licence cancelled till May 31, 1939, for being intoxicated while in charge of a car. A chase by the police was described in court. INJURED TWO CYCLISTS DRIVER FINED £2O (Per United Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, June 18. A fine of £2O and concellation of his licence for 12 months was the penalty imposed on Henry George Fawcett, of Waitara, who pleaded guilty in the New Plymouth Police Court to being intoxicated in charge of a car. The case was the result of an accident last night when the motorist injured two cyclists he was overtaking.
