COUNTRY SCHOOL CHILDREN APPEAL BY MINISTER (Per United Press Association) HAWERA. May 26. The Acting Prime Miniser <Mr P. Fraser) ofTicially opened the twentyseventh South Taranaki Winter Show last night, when he spoke of the merit of the educational exhibits, and as Minister of Education referred to the consolidation of schools. He appealed for the full co-operation of the people to give country children equal opportunities with those in the larger centres. He commended for support the system now begun of road transport for secondary and technical pupils as well as for primary scholars. Mr Fraser attended a social arranged by the Hawera branch of the Labour Party. Before his departure for Danncvirkc this morning he inspected the Technical High School and the primary schools.
