MINISTER'S TOUR

DAY OF RELAXATION VISIT TO FOX GLACIER (Special to Daily Times) WEHEKA, Feb. 5. After a strenuous week of travelling, the Minister of Railways (Mr D. G. Sullivan), who is making a tour of inspection of the railways and industrial resources of the South Island, was to-day given a brief respite while he and his party visited the lovely Fox glacier at Weheka, where they are sta"ing. The Minister and Mrs Sullivan, Mr L. J. Schmitt, general manager of the Tourist Department, Mrs Schmitt, and other members of the party walked through the magnificent bush track to the glacier and ascended a long way up the ice in fine weather, obtaining an excellent view of the grand sweep of the Fox from the high ranges down into the heavily wooded valleys, where the rata is flowering in red profusion. The party was away practically all day. . In the evening the Minister and others attended a dance given in their honour by the Weheka branch of the Labour Party. To-morrow the Minister will leave for Hokitika to spend the night there.
