Canterbury secured a lead of four matches to two in the Wilding Shield challenge match to-day against Wellington. Results:— Singles (Canterbury names first). —Angas beat Bedford 6—4, .6—3; Barnett beat Coombe 7 —9, 6 —l, 6—l; Dymond lost to France 6—4, 4_6, 3—6; Cant lost to Roussell 6—4, 2—6, o—6. Doubles.—Angas and Dymond beat Bedford and Coombe 6—3, 6—4; Barnett and Cant beat Roussell and Franpe 4—6, 6—3, 6—l. Canterbury: 4 rubbers, 10 games. „„, Wellington: 2 rubbers, 6 sets, 67 games. The results in the Nunneley Casket were: — Singles.—Miss T. Poole beat Miss Howe 6—3, 6—3; Miss I. Poole lost to Miss Nicholls o—6, I—6; Miss Rudkin lost to Miss Douthett 2—6, 5—7; Miss Bishop beat Mrs Latham 6—2, 7—5. Doubles.—Misses Bishop and Rudkin lost to Misses Nicholls and Douthett 6—4, 3—6, 2—6; Misses T. and I. Poole beat Mrs Latham and Miss Howe 6— % 6—4. Canterbury: 3 rubbers, 7 sets, 56 games.
